Seneca, the evening before last, in the rain. The pic doesn’t show the hazy grey of the rain between me on the road and Seneca grazing across a deep arroyo that runs inside the basin, but it was actively raining, and I was glad of my truck cab’s shelter. If you look closely, you can see some puddles in the ground behind her. And does it look greener? I swear it does … and is.
Disappointment Valley got more rain yesterday. I caught the tail end of one phase of sunshine in mid- to late afternoon, but before I even found horses, the clouds were billowing up from the south again already for the next phase of rain.
It is DAMP out there, folks. The kind of wet, still-sloppy, muddy, soggy, wonderful ground we rarely get to enjoy very long after it rains.
It. Is. (in a word) AWESOME.
Seneca is so pretty out there in all the rain and puddles and wetness. The rain has been so, so welcome and our land just keeps soaking it all up. Hopefully all this super El Nino moisture will make up for our awful deficit!
I sure hope so. We’re past 2 inches right now, as of this morning’s measurement. I. Am. STOKED! đ It is absolutely sopping, soaking, sloppy wet out there. The mustangs are basking in sunshine now … before the next wave?!
Awesome, & for us as wellđ
Good. Glad ya’ll also are getting this exceptionally needed moisture. đ
Wonderful and beautiful!! We got rain last night in MO!
Wonderful! Do ya’ll need it, too? Your moisture might be coming from … is it Hurricane Isaias? Hope it’s beneficial there and not destructive!
Thank you, TJ. Yes, we’ve had such dry and hot months. June rained records….then…stopped. It’s been beneficial– no destruction. Nature is so powerful! Many just don’t respect her!
Too true. It’s hard for me to understand how people can take Mother Nature, the Earth, for granted, but we who *know* her, love her! So glad you got good, beneficial rain. đ
Pretty gal in the rain looking good!
She â and all the mustangs â is/are loving the green!
So so happy to see green! I’m sure the ponies are enjoying the cooler temps! We’re a little cooler here, the clouds came in, but nothing dropped from them. âšī¸
It was chilly overnight (and the radar showed snow south of the basin!?), but they are going after the chow like you wouldn’t believe. Sorry you didn’t get any rain … maybe in another system? Glad they cooled the temps a bit, though!
